The HSBB Network Services (with and without QoS) provide Layer 2 connectivity for carriage services. Each of the HSBB Network Services has the characteristics described in the paragraph above.
The Bitstream Services (with and without Network Service) similarly provide Layer 2 connectivity. The primary difference is that Bitstream Services are within the scope of existing broadband services and not provided on the HSBB network. Essentially,
the distinction is between the "old" (existing) and the "new" (HSBB) networks used to deliver them. There are some technical similarities between these HSBB Network and Bitstream services in their respective HSBB and non-HSBB environments:
(a) The HSBB Network Service without QoS is functionally equivalent to the Bitstream Service without Network Service; and
(b) The HSBB Network Service with QoS is similar to (but has a greater degree of functionality than) the Bitstream Service with Network Service.
