Converged Telecommunications Policy & Regulations (CTPR) Master Class For ASEAN Countries 2016 Launched

CONVERGED TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLICY & REGULATIONS (CTPR) MASTER CLASS FOR ASEAN COUNTRIES 2016 LAUNCHED 
 
CYBERJAYA, 12 December 2016 --- The Multimedia University (MMU) in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the GSMA recently launched the 2016 CTPR (Converged Telecommunications Policy and Regulations) Master Class for ASEAN countries, in partnership with Telkom University, Bandung, Indonesia.  
The Master Class held from 21– 25 November 2016 was the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific Region and specifically targeted at regulators, governments, service providers, broadcasters, equipment manufacturers and vendors within ASEAN and throughout the region.  
 
The 2016 CTPR Master Class for ASEAN countries was driven by the need to ensure that critical stakeholders in the Communications and Multimedia industry are able to anticipate and keep ahead of the fast-paced technology, industry and regulatory developments required to address the challenges, threats and opportunities resulting from the convergence and confluence of communications, multimedia and content.  





 
                             
The 2016 CTPR for ASEAN countries brought together a strong field of more than 30 experienced keynote speakers, and panelists comprises of service industry, manufacturing/vendor, regulatory, governmental and academic representatives who shared their insights and experiences across the five thematic modules presented over the five-day Master Class.  
 
The five thematic modules covered were converged policy and collaborative regulations; managing spectrum to maximise social and economic benefits; emerging technologies and networks; disruptive digital business and economics; and smart digital nation, cities and communities.  
The diversity of speakers and panelists was also reflected in the diversity of the participants of the Master Class representing a similarly strong cross-section of industry and governmental players from the ASEAN region and throughout the Asia Pacific.
