Seminar on Internationalised Domain Name in collaboration between MCMC and .my Domain Registry

On January 24th 2011, .my DOMAIN REGISTRY has announced that domain name ‘.my’  now supports the Internationalised Domain Name (IDN) in Malaysia. IDN  implementation starts off with Jawi, followed by Chinese and Tamil IDNs which will be implemented progressively.

About IDN:
The abbreviation of IDN stands for Internationalised Domain Name, also called a multilingual domain name. An IDN is a domain name that contains Unicode characters and no longer restricted  to A-Z. In other words, Internationalised Domain Names may in letters with diacritics ex: (façade) as required by many European languages or characters drawn from non-Latin scripts such as Jawi, Tamil and Chinese.

SKMM in collaboration with .my DOMAIN REGISTRY will be organising a seminar for the IDN in the objective to create awareness and promote the IDN technology to the government bodies and educational institutes.
