Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Between MCMC-UTM in Research and Development (R&D) and Human Capital Development
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Research and Development (R&D) and Human Capital Development between MCMC and UTM was sealed on 26
th July 2011 for a period of three (3) years.
2. In the MoU, both parties have agreed to collaborate in strategic areas which includes but not limited to:

Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology

Convergence between mobile and broadcasting technology
-
Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) in mobile network

Wireless Industry Emission (WIE)
3. To date, this partnership has established the one and only LTE laboratory in Malaysia based on the 4th generation (4G) technology. The laboratory provides not only the facility for LTE related research and development activities but also used as a training platform for empowering knowledge among MCMC staff and the industry. Every year, the partnership offers scheduled training in the field of technology and spectrum.
4. In addition, the partnership is currently establishing the Wireless Industry Emission (WIE) and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) laboratories, which are expected to be ready in 2014. These laboratories are housed in the facility of Wireless Communication Centre (WCC) in UTM Skudai.
5. These infrastructures are expected to encourage more innovation, exploration and improvement in the communication and multimedia sector in the near future. For more information, please visit
