CYBERJAYA, July 19 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is bringing prepaid registration to the workplace, making it more convenient for office workers to register their mobile phone lines before the Dec 15 deadline. After the deadline, all prepaid customers who do not register will have their lines deactivated. The MCMC is organising a special prepaid registration at Wisma Bernama (next to the National Library, off Jalan Tun Razak) from 10am to 5pm for two days beginning tomorrow. The three telcos -- Maxis, DiGi and Celcom will set up their booths at Wisma Bernama (next to the National Library, off Jalan Tun Razak) from 10am to 5pm for two days beginning tomorrow. The three telcos -- Maxis, DiGi and Celcom will set up their booths at Wisma Bernama tomorrow. Registration is free of charge. "We want to make it more convenient for office workers to register. All they need to do is to bring their MyKad and mobile phone to Wisma Bernama," said MCMC head of Corporate Communications Adelina Iskandar. Adelina said the special prepaid registration was being held in conjunction with the official launch of the Prepaid Registration Public Awareness Campaign by the Deputy Minister of Energy, Water and Communications Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor tomorrow at Wisma Bernama. "We are targeting people in the surrounding areas of Wisma Bernama, which covers the National Library, National Heart Institute and the Kuala Lumpur Hospital," she said. "Together with the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications, we are stepping up efforts to aggressively register prepaid users. People have the tendency to wait till the last minute and join long queues to beat the deadline. We are telling them -- don't wait, register now for peace of mind and continuous service." The ongoing campaign involves Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad (Celcom), DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) and Maxis Communications (Malaysia) (Maxis) setting up special registration desks at shopping complexes and other high-density areas.
