YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri (Dr) Mazlan bin Lazim
YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri (Dr) Mazlan bin Lazim has been appointed as Commission Member of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission effective from 15 February 2022 for a period of two (2) years.
Born in Kota Setar, Kedah on 25 December 1961, YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri (Dr) Mazlan bin Lazim graduated from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM) in 1985 with Bachelor of Science (Economic Resources). He then completed his studies in Master Science Human Resources Development in 1994 from the same University.
YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri (Dr) Mazlan bin Lazim had spent 35 years of service in Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) before his official retirement on 25 December 2021. He first embarked his first Police Training at Pusat Latihan Polis (PULAPOL) Kuala Lumpur in 1986 and subsequently posted to the Melaka Tengah District Police Office as Investigation Officer in the same year. Prior to his last position as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police of Malaysia (DIG) in 2021, YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri (Dr) Mazlan bin Lazim had served various police offices throughout the country and involved as well as in charged in security aspects of various national and international events held in Malaysia. He was the director of the Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology Department of the PDRM before he was appointed as DIG and had stints as police chief for Kelantan (July 2014- June 2016) and Kuala Lumpur (October 2017 –September 2020).
Due to his tremendous contributions towards the community and the country as whole, YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri (Dr) Mazlan bin Lazim had been conferred with various state awards including Ahli Mahkota Kedah (AMK) 2004, Bintang Cemerlang Negeri (BCN) 2005, Paduka Setia Mahkota Kelantan (PSK) 2007, Setia Mahkota Pahang (SMP) 2009, Darjah Dato’ Paduka Setia Mahkota Kelantan (DPSK) 2011, Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) 2011, Darjah Seri Paduka Setia Mahkota Kelantan (SPSK) 2015, Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) 2016, Seri Mahkota Wilayah (SMW) 2017, Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara (PJPN) 2018, Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN) 2021, Panglima Gagah Pasukan Polis (PGPP) 2021 and Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) 2022.
