Dato' Wei Chuan Beng

 
 

Dato’ Wei Chuan Beng has been appointed as Commission Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission effective from 26 January 2023 for a period of two (2) years.

Dato' Wei Chuan Beng is an industry leader in digital / ICT / telecommunications. He has participated actively in national and industry organisations to advance the nation's digital / ICT sector. Dato' Wei Chuan Beng also served as a member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) from 2018 to 2020.
 
Dato' Wei Chuan Beng is currently a member of the Council of National Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) and the National Productivity Council, which is chaired by the Malaysian Prime Minister. Since 2020, Dato' Wei Chuan Beng has been the Digital Productivity Nexus (DPN) champion under the auspices of the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC).
 
Dato' Wei Chuan Beng has served as Senior Executive Director of the KSI Strategic Institute since July 2020. (KSI). KSI is an institute that provides strategic advice, high-level executive briefings, international conferences, policy roundtables, and national summits.
 
Prior appointed as Commission member, Dato' Wei Chuan Beng was a Non-Executive Director on the board of Red One Holdings Bhd (redONE). In 1996, Dato' Wei Chuan Beng co-founded REDtone Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (REDtone) and left the company in 2015. Dato' Wei Chuan Beng is also the Co-Founder and Chairman of Digital Way Academy.
 
Dato' Wei Chuan Beng has also made significant contributions to higher education. He was formerly a member of the Ministry of Higher Education's advisory committee for the private sector. He has served as an adjunct professor and CEO faculty member at UTM and UTHM. He is a trustee for the UTM Endowment Fund and a member of the UTMSPACE board of directors. Additionally, Dato' Wei Chuan Beng is a master trainer of professional selling skills and the entrepreneur development programme.
 
Since 2005, Dato' Wei Chuan Beng has been an active member of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) to further his professional, leadership, and personal development. YPO is a worldwide CEO organisation with approximately 30,000 members from 142 countries. He served as Chairman of the Malaysia Chapter, Chairman of the Malaysia Gold Chapter, and Executive Committee member of the YPO Technology Network. Currently, he serves as the EXCO of the YPO China Business Network.
 
Dato' Wei earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with Honors from University Technology Malaysia in 1989 and a Diploma in Management (Bank Negara Gold Medalist Award Winner) from Malaysia Institute of Management (MIM) in 1995. In 2006, he also completed an Entrepreneur Development Program at the prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management.
